comments on feeds and feed aggregators

Hi!
Yesterday, during the lesson, we learned how to use feeds and feed aggregators. In particularly, we used
Bloglines and, although at the beginning it seemed difficult , after few minutes of disorientation we reached our goal!! Now, each one of us can log in on Bloglines and, without spending so much time, can easily see if his/her “favourite” blogs or sites have been updated! Obviously, in our cases, our “favourite” blogs are those of the people of our group and so, for the moment, they are not so much, but we could see the positive aspects of this technology already! Thanks to Bloglines we can see on one single page if our favourite blogs have been updated and it is surely a saving in time! For somebody, it can be a small saving in time but for me..it is completely another way of working! At home I have in fact a very, very, very slow computer (not only it is old, but it also has a slow internet connection) and, in order to open a blog, it can spend also 1 or 2 minutes…you can imagine how wonderful is to navigate in this conditions! The simple procedure of opening four blogs can transform a good day in a awful one! But now, just opening one single page, I can see directly if my classmates’ blogs updated their blogs, so I can avoid to open those which have not been updated!! It is simply fantastic! Instead of spending 8 minutes, I spend only 2!!  In conclusion, I’m happy to have learn this possibility of the web (I had never heard of it before) not only because I have learned something new that I can use, but also because it is really useful for me! Thank you Bloglines!!!

bye

My simphaties! I know what it feels like to have a slow computer, it's so annoying. I have a similar problem. I stay in the Tartaglia student hall where there are just 3 computers and all of them are old and slow. Furthermore there are long queues of residents waiting for their turn and once you finally manage to get to a PC, you can't stay long. A similar thing happens in LAIF computer classrooms, so you can imagine what a stress it is. Consequently I have to do most of the work at home at the weekends.
Anyway, I share your enthusiamsm for Bloglines which will save us a lot of our precious time!

Hey, Elisa! I appreciated your post. I wasn't sure that Bloglines could be really so useful, but after reading what you wrote I changed my idea. If you have a slow connection, Bloglines is a real blessing to you! It lets you save a lot of time! I'll join you in the chorus: thank you feed aggregator!
See ya,
Federico.

Hi Elisa!

How are you doing?

I really appreciated that you were sincere by pointing out the positive aspects of feeds and Bloglines. I like your enthusiasm! The post is well-organized: you wrote about your first experience with this new technology (and your success in using it), and then you wrote the reasons why Bloglines can improve your work. You went straight to the point: this tool can save you a lot of time! In particular, you wrote that this tool can be very useful if you have a slow internet connection. That’s true! Moreover, it’s a matter of efficiency. If you don’t waste your time visiting all the sites you’re interested in, you can work on your tasks more efficiently.

As regards the style of this post, I think you managed to write in an informal way, but you should remember that contracted forms are preferable. I’d like to write you some mistakes I found by reading your post. ‘This conditions’ (correction: ‘these conditions’),‘procedure of’ (correction: ‘procedure for’),‘a awful’ (correction: ‘an awful’), ‘avoid to’ (correction: ‘avoid + -ing’), ‘have learn’ (correction: ‘have learnt’). Sorry if I seem boring or pedantic to you…I believe we can help each other, so I hope you’ll appreciate my corrections!! Let me know if I’ll make mistakes in my posts!

See you soon!

Giovanna

Hi Elisa,

as you wrote, I'm quite happy too to have learnt to use such useful tools: Feeds!
I believe this course is becoming more and more interesting not only because we can improve our English, but also because we're learning very interesting tools related to the web world...
What do you think?

See you soon,

Alice
